A ‘rising star’ in state establishment circles is about to make a big announcement. After weeks of waiting Congressman Todd Young has decided to run for Senate.

Well, sort of.

Following a period of very lucrative fundraising Young is set to tell folks his plans. The truth? He’s running, just not this time. 2018, my friends.

You can expect the announcement later this month to go something like this:

“I’m humbled by the great support blah blah blah” – okay, you get the point.

To put it short, after making bank on the looming announcement Todd plans to stay in the 9th for one more term. He always did.

The Congressman may have big goals, but he’s not ignorant of the political climate. He wants to seek higher office and Team Todd knows 2018 is sure to be the easiest route.

After all, why fight your own when you can waltz into the Senate against a very beatable Joe Donnelly in a midterm likely to be good for Republicans here in Indiana?

The truth of the matter is in a Holcomb v. Stutzman race there’s no room for Todd Young. Susan Brooks recognized that and Todd does too.

It’s a little early to size up the 2018 primary, but it could prove much easier than taking on the grassroots or party leadership in Stutzman and Holcomb.

Love him or hate him, that’s the master plan. Watch later this month and see if I’m right about his big announcement.

(p.s. Just a little added evidence ToddYoungforSenate.com and ToddYoungforSenate.org is directly linked back into his campaign website. You know he wants it!)

This gives Todd plenty of time to beef up that resume with more bold, courageous leadership of the herd.
