You supported Trump and all things Republican, and your company is going solar despite government obstruction, because coal makes less financial sense by the day. Don’t you care that you’re creating the wrong jobs?
You are a hotelier just like Trump, and your industry’s analysts project billions of dollars in losses because foreign tourists, blessed with plenty of choices, are going elsewhere in the face of America’s unwelcoming posture. But don’t you feel nice and safe and patriotic?
Does capitalism truly contain the seeds of its own destruction, and is the blond bloviator its Johnny Appleseed? Has corporate America’s takeover of government, necessitated by the cultivation of Know-Nothingism among the masses, actually killed the golden goose of a regulated, long-view market economy?
To quote a favorite piece of presidential wisdom, we’ll see what happens. Viewed from left, right or center, it’s not likely to be pretty. You can’t confine this damage, any more than you can limit a war with the guy in North Korea whose name Trump’s voters now know.
