Lannan started his news blog covering Fishers in January 2012. He worked in media from 1969 through 1983 and hosted the all-night radio talk show “Night Action” on the former WSMJ-FM in Hancock County in the mid-1970s. For four years, Lannan was morning news anchor and education reporter for WCSI-AM in Columbus, Indiana, winning an Indiana Associated Press award in 1981 for his coverage of local education issues. He also spent time in the newsrooms of Network Indiana and WNDE and WFBQ. In 1983, he left journalism for a career in the federal government, retiring in 2011. Since 1991, Lannan has lived in Fishers, where he resides with his wife, Jane, and twin daughters. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1969, completed a degree at the Institute of Broadcast Arts, and studied political science at IUPUI.
