GOP Debate Redux
So, after watching last night’s CNN GOP Presidential debate that was as long as a “Lord of the Rings” film, I decided to keep my assessment short and to the point.
Donald Trump – Seriously?! While he did somewhat better than last time he is still the “Coyote Ugly” candidate. He may be fun to mess around with, but come morning with daylight and sobriety you are gnawing your arm off to get out of there.
Carly Fiorina – Very nice performance. It actually helps when you answer questions. She did seem little cold at times, but she proved she plays at the grown ups table. She walked away with the best performance.
Jeb Bush – A little slow out of the gate, but I have to give him props when defended his brother and his wife from the Trumpster.
John Kaisch – He also gets points for being a grown up, particularly when you tell a partisan audience, the non-partisan stuff they don’t necessarily want to hear.
Ben Carson – Smart guy, no doubt, but he came across as almost too relaxed that I had to wonder if he took something before the debate.
Ran Paul – He scored some points on the topic of incarceration, but when you’re the first one to speak out of the gate, go strong or go back to Kentucky.
Mike Huckabee – I stopped taking him seriously after the Kim Davis story.
Chris Christy – A somewhat solid performance, especially when he talked about his his family not being able to contact his wife who was in New York on 9-11.
Scott Walker – Why were you there?
Marco Rubio – He has the potential to make a good Vice-President.
Ted Cruz – Whatever.
